Diogeitos, Aristolochos,Theudotos, die von euchgekommenen (Gesandten), haben gebeten, das Heiligtum,des Asklepios, das bei eucherbaut ist, anzuerkennen als unverletzlich undauch sonst der Stadt Gunst zu erweisen,so wie auch Nikomedes,unser Vater, wohlwollend gesonnenwar dem Volke. Wir pflegenuns aller zu uns kommendenHellenenanzunehmenin der Überzeugung, dass zum Ruhmnicht wenig diese Sache beitrage.Besonders dieFreunde unseres Vatersfördern wir ständig und von euch,- wegen der bei unserem Vatervorhandenen persönlichen Beziehung zueurem Volk, und weilder König Ptolemaiosfreundschaftlich mit euch verbunden ist,der unser Freund und Bundesgenosseist, ferner weil auch die von euchAbgesandten in ehrliebender Weisedie freundliche Gesinnung betont haben,die ihr gegen uns hegt – werden wirin Zukunft, worum ihr uns auch bittet,versuchen, jedem einzeln undinsgesamt allen Gunst zu erweisen, so gutwir können werden, und derSeefahrer untereuren (Bürgern), die eventuellan den befestigten Plätzenlanden, die wir beherrschen,(werden wir versuchen), und anzunehmen, damit für sieSicherheit bestehe; ebenso aber auch fürdie, denen es passiert, dass sie durch ein Unglückauf ihrer Seereisean unsere (Küsten) geworfen werden,uns größte Mühe geben, damitihnen von niemandem Unrecht geschieht. Wirerkennen ferner das Heiligtum als unverletzlich an,so wie ihr es zu erbitten gedachtet, und Diogeitos undAristolochos und Theudotos habe ichbeauftragt, über dies und über das übrige, waswir beabsichtigen, euch Mitteilungzu machen.
